The Global HIV Vaccine Enterprise, the Thailand Ministry of Public Health, the U.S. Military HIV Research Program (MHRP), and WHO-UNAIDS hosted a meeting of scientists, clinical trial specialists, public health officials, and others to make recommendations on the future utility of RV144, the vaccine regimen that demonstrated the first proof of concept that a vaccine can confer some degree of protection against HIV acquisition in humans. The meeting was held in Bangkok, Thailand, 16 - 18 March 2010.
The recommendations from this meeting will be presented at various upcoming meetings to help determine the future course of the HIV vaccine program in Thailand and future applications of the RV144 regimen.
